Our Mission
The mission of WECARE is to collaborate with families, schools, community organizations, and individuals to provide high quality early childhood experiences where all Wallingford children feel happy, safe, and loved; and become healthy lifelong learners.
To provide all Wallingford families the information and resources necessary for their children to be prepared for and successful in school.

Ellen Benham, 2025 Roberta Clouet Award Recipient
This award was established in memory of Roberta Clouet who was an active and generous community leader. She was instrumental in guiding and developing the Wallingford Early Childhood Alliance Resources and Education Council (WECARE), a Wallingford-based early literacy organization, into becoming a firmly established non-profit entity.
The Roberta Clouet Recognition Award is presented annually to an individual or group who has made a significant educational impact on the lives of Wallingford children ages birth to 8.
The award recipient will have demonstrated a desire and passion to improve the lives of young children through their experiences educationally, socially, and emotionally.
Our Partners
WECARE is a Board of volunteers from the community working towards the same goal for children, parents and early childhood educators in Wallingford.
WECARE works in collaboration with the Wallingford Public Library, Wallingford Public Schools, SCOW, Youth & Social Services, parents, families and early childhood educators throughout Walingford.
Our Accomplishments
WECARE has provided professional development opportunities to early childhood educators in both private and public sectors.
